Two books in and I am addicted. Love the hybrid shape shifter, vampire romance with a ton of interesting characters.
I have commented before on this series but I know I'm in trouble when I start about 10 other book sagas to give myself a variety when traveling or taking a break from my own business. Out of all of them, this is the one I can't get enough of and keep coming back to. The emotional investment in the characters isn't good for my health, I'm sure but who else but I.T. Lucas can write explicit sexual love scenes without making it seem cheesy and cheap? The book is so well written and it's so easy to get lost in the story line.I tend to lose interest and need a break from a book, hence my having around 10 books going at once, but this book series has me losing time as I keep turning the pages to read just one more paragraph or one more chapter.The vampires are not the stereotypical immortals we've always read about or seen in movies. They are a different breed entirely and it's refreshing. Kian is one with a heart yet he has his immortal animal instincts that are his nature making him 100% full male with primitive instincts and traits, but he finds himself challenging his own nature once he meets Syssi, who is much more than a possible dormant that could be turned and be a benefit to Kian's family and it's future.Syssi isn't a typical human. As a seer, she has a gift to see or sense things on deeper levels that even the vampires may not be able to connect to even with their own heightened senses. She, like Kian feel an unusual pull to each other that is much more than sexual in nature. The vampire's venom is addicting but this was beyond sexual/venom addiction. This is what causes inner conflict within both Kian and Syssi, as well as with each other. The chemistry and dynamics between the two is beautifully written. It makes the reader long for that type of deeper connection that goes far beyond any kind of physical attraction.I also love that Syssi and the other characters aren't overboard with certain personality traits. She's mature and has her wits about her even when she's emotionally conflicted. Some writers tend to make a character too immature, far too stubborn or just annoying and it can be a turn off as the characters wear me out and I just lose interest after a bit due to getting tired of the relentless annoyances in the character's personalities. THANK YOU I.T. LEWIS! :)Plus, I've already made some of Kian's clan, my book boyfriends. ;) Who wouldn't want to be a part of such a family?I highly recommend this series. I'm a true collector of Lucas's work now. Never stop writing! :)

They are pushed together when Amanda's lab (the Professor) is destroyed by Doomers – our villains du jour.The sexual tension and relationship confusion are both drawn tight as we see the expectations of a modern woman versus that of man who has lived 2000 years and doesn't quite get the concepts of sexual liberation, delegation and democracy.There is a lot of humor and a lot of action scenes plus tension from the attraction that quickly turns to true love.Secondary character, from Amanda to Dahlu who should be the main villain but is not what we expect, are exceptionally well drawn. One moment you thing Amanda is a shallow woman moving fro man to man, then you realize she has no choice and is seeking a 'cure' to all that. Dahlu appears to be a whack job of a religious he-man-woman-hater, then you find, like a lot of Scientologist, he has discovered the internet.All three books have a continuous plot and are addicting. I would finish one and immediately need the next like a fix!This Trilogy is Book Nerd Approved4 out of 5 stars – losing one star because, for a 2000 year old man from Eastern Europe, Kian has an amazing grasp on the English language including American idioms and slang. I love this entire series. I have read all the books she has written so far and I am hooked. The author manages to take you to a different world and forget all your troubles even if for just a little while. The characters are amazing. They are descendants of a goddess and work hard to provide protection to humans and rescue victims when in trouble. Meanwhile, they are finding dormants and welcoming them into their clan. There is romance, lust, action, excitement, fantasy, and laughter among other things. Very entertaining! I highly recommend this series if you like paranormal romance and fantasy. Every set of stories introduces new characters and new dormants. It never gets boring. And also a new mystery to solve, by trying to catch the bad guys. Always a new set of bad guys to keep it interesting.
I never thought I would love a romance series about vampire ish creatures. So predictable! But not in the hands of Ms. Lucas. So cleverly done... a true storyteller. I read mostly thrillers but have taken to romance and other related genres to find out how to make a story that draws a reader to read all nine books in a week and a half. I even glided over the tons of glaring English and typo errors. A good edit can cure that stuff but only the author can make me want to read more. Loved the characters and their crazy dilemmas. Didn't love the overuse f "hissed", 'snorted' and "blushed". Again easy fixes to a really good read that took me through a nasty bout of flu. Thank you Ms. Lucas. I love your immortals!!!
