I love all Marcia's stories and her ability to capture and pull you into her books with her amazing cornish imagery . In this story I could feel the mist cloaking around me as it rose off the Tamar River and the atmosphere the book created in the loft overlooking the sea garden was pure magic .Unfortunately the storyline floundered on several occasions in its need to reflect and recapture old characters from past books, ,it seemingly made the story repetitive and it just lost its flow . I still enjoyed the story of Jess and her connection with her past and Marcia's story telling however I feel that it's time to let Cass, Kate, Tom and this whole family go.

If you love Rosamond Pilcher and Maeve Binchey you are sure to love this author too. This story was happy, sad, and full of family and friends who have loved, lost and loved again. Many characters all tied together over time and generations. Please read.

M. Willett is the best writer of books about Cornwall and environs and the vivid descriptions bring it all back. The stories and characters are hard to forget, and if you are over 50, there are even love stories for you/us! There is always a dog or two, mostly in the "background", and that always makes me smile. Her descriptive phrases are pure poetry, in such lovely language and serves to make the stories unforgettable. If you like Cookson, Binchy, Pilcher, you will love Willett as well. I thank her for many heart-warmed hours. I love every book she writes and hope for more!

I enjoyed the book and seeing what happened to the same set of characters from other works. I just felt like there was such a build up of mystery in the story, but then the result was quick and a bit of a let down. Still a good story, well-done characters, lovely setting - just not as good as some of the others

Having read all of Marcia' s books, this one did not disappoint. I really enjoyed reading it and it was nice to meet up with familiar characters. It had a nice twist to it. I think this book will appeal to mature readers.

Have always enjoyed her novels but I am having trouble getting past the first chapter on this one - too many characters too soon - not enough character development. I will plod on in hopes of it getting better.

Great response and product

It's been awhile since I've read this, but I have never missed reading a Marcia Willett book. I've enjoyed them all. As noted by other readers, she writes a lot like Rosamunde Pilcher and Mauve Binchey -----both favorite authors of mine.
