What a great escape to a cozy little town with likable characters and delicious sounding food!

All three ladies who work at Josie's Lucky Dill Deli (Josie, Cookie, and Verny) have agreed to help with the town's St. Patrick's Day dance. Josie is going to cater the dance with Irish food (corned beef and cabbage, potatoes, and such), while Cookie is making decorated St.Patrick's cookies for dessert. Meanwhile Verny has gotten roped into doing the decorations and setting up the room. Each of them has started working on this annual event when they started asking Lightening if he was going to display his Irish antique sword again on the Irish artifacts table. Being very proud of his sword, he says yes.When the night of the dance finally comes, it seems to be the best dance ever held with great food, fantastic decorations, and artifacts to enjoy. However before the dance is over, Lightening discovers something awful, and Josie, Cookie, and Verny decide to help him figure out exactly what happened. There is a little romance, a lot of mystery, and some very tired people by the time everything is sorted out.I love the idea of a small town that celebrates every holiday in a big way. The three deli ladies work well together in the restaurant and in the "field" as they solve mysteries and murders. This book is my favorite in the series thus far. The characters seem to have hit their stride where there is less bickering and more working together. Even the complaints about Verny's car have calmed down! The author has shown new attitudes for old characters, and a willingness to help others is greater than ever. I liked the way the friends worked together and even the younger generation got pulled into this book.What a fun book that left me feeling satisfied and very glad I took the time to read it. Good for all ages, no unsavory language or explicit sex scenes, just good clean fun. Well except for the kitchen after Cookie worked alone---nothing clean about that! 😁

A good plot but the answer was clear from the start plus the proofing errors didn't help. The characters however are growing on me.St Patrick's Day was always a big deal and the dance that was being organised meant that they were all busy preparing food and decorating the gym. Even the grouch was in a good mood as his ancient dagger was going to be on display. That is until it went missing. Now everyone is pointing the finger at each other. Can they find the dagger before it is gone for good?

When Lightening’s priceless dagger is stolen at a St. Patrick’s Day dance, he is beyond livid. And, when the local police think he pretended to steal it to commit insurance fraud, he is angrier than he has ever been. His friends, Deli owner, Josie and her co-workers, Verny and Cookie soon begin the search to find the real thief. I love this series. Josie, Verny and Cookie, are the best of friends and when Lightening is wrongfully blamed for the theft, they jump right in to help their friend. They are my kind of friends. This is my honest, voluntary review of an advanced reader copy of this book.

When lightning's dagger is stolen from the St. Paddy's dance, josie, cookie and verny are out to help him find it and the person who stole it before it leaves town for good. They also have to clear lightning's name because the police think he stole it for the insurance money. Can they find the dagger in time? I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review. I have had trouble keeping two of the main characters straight in this series but this book helped. A jeweled dagger is stolen at the St Paddy's day dance and the girls are asked to help find it by the owner. Fingers are pointed and feelings get hurt but all ends well.

I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review. I would have bought it anyway since this is one of my favorite authors. This book is funny which her books usually are as well as being clean reads. The mystery of the missing dagger will keep you guessing till the end.

Another fun adventure with three of my favorite sleuths! I love how they include Verny’s daughter Cici and her boyfriend. This is a very fun series!
