While some bits did get a little dry, overall Rainey is really informative. We read this text for my masters program, and it was great. The organization of information made sense and helped demystify a lot about public organizations.

This was a required text for a master's level course. It is a very dense read that often repeats the same point mulitple times on a single page.

Needed it for class. No damage, buy used if possible!!!!

Great information in this book! Used for a MPA program.

Used in conjunction with Classics of Organizational Theory. The text can be a little difficult to follow at times but the material is quality.
